Why the iPhone is not made in the U.S. →
In light of Apple’s latest quarterly earnings setting the record for their largest profit ever recorded, this article provides some insight into why Apple manufactures the iPhone overseas. It is not simply a matter of money, but a range of issues mostly based around people. The U.S. simply does not have the amount of skilled labor to compete with China and other countries.

Anthology Found Footage Horror Film →
The found footage genre of horror films that have been so popular lately may be wearing out their welcome with a lot of people. The anthology horror film has been largely missing I’m recent years. Combining the two genres at least sounds like a compelling idea that could refresh both.

Movies to look for in 2012
This list is a few movies that are coming out in 2012 that should be among the year’s best, but are not huge sequel/franchise films that will get a ton of marketing. The plot revolves around Gordon-Levitt”s character...

SOPA taken off the table.....for now →
It seems that the internet was able to achieve its collective goal of shutting down SOPA and PIPA. This is only round one however, as the ideas behind the acts are sure to resurface sooner than later in some form.

All of the details on Apple's education event →
Apple will be distributing textbooks for iPads. There are some caveats to their announcement however, such as iBooks created with their new authoring tools can only be distributed through iTunes. I would assume that at some point Amazon and their Kindle devices would get into the e-textbook game, so consider Apple’s announcement the beginning of a slow march towards an all digital education...

First look at Vin Diesel in the new Riddick movie  →
It seems that Vin Diesel’s wish has come true, and the third Riddick movie will actually get made. In case you forgot, the prior two films were Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick. With the second film being quite a departure from the first, what this new sequel will end up being should at least be interesting.

Will Apple bring textbooks to the iPad? →
Apple is holding an education event this week and rumors are swirling that they will be launching textbooks on the iPad. If this is true, it could be the first step in truly transitioning away from the textbook establishment. The days of twenty pound backpacks being lugged around by teenagers could be a thing of the past.
